Lesson 4_page 8Remember, whole grains contain the whole grain kernel, so they are high in nutrients. Here are some substitutions you may have suggested:

  • Pancake with buckwheat flour instead of refined flour
  • Cooked brown rice instead of steamed white rice
  • Cooked oatmeal or millet instead of rice porridge
  • Whole wheat toast instead of white toast
  • Whole wheat pasta instead of vermicelli noodles
